LG is the latest in a string of mobile manufacturers to announce an event in the coming weeks – and this time it looks like an Optimus Pad is to be launched.
Invites to the event on September 14 have an Optimus tag, indicating the latest product in the Android line will be unveiled.
There’s also a picture of a device but its not clear if its a smartphone or tab.
While LG has said it will be releasing more Optimus phones, it’s likely to also be bringing out a tab to compete with the iPad, Dell Streak and Samsung Galaxy Tab in the run up to Christmas.
HTC and Samsung have already invited the press to events on September 15 and 16 respectively.
The Optimus range of Android smartphones has featured in some high profile adverts, including idents on Channel 4 and E4.
It consists of the LG Optimus GT540, LG Optimus One With Google and LG Optimus. And confusingly, other phones include the the LG Optimus Z, aka LG LSU950, and LG Optimus Q, aka LG Aloha and LG LU2300.
