The LG KP500 Cookie handset has helped the company to achieve increased sales this quarter, it was revealed today (July 22nd).
For the three-month period ending on June 30th, LG’s mobile business shipped 7.8 per cent more devices compared to this time last year.
It attributed this rise to "strong demand" for mid-tier handsets such as the Cookie, Arena and LG KS360.
Steady progress is forecast for the next quarter as the manufacturer introduces more models, such as the GD900 Crystal, to the market.
In addition, the fourth model in the Black Label series is scheduled to hit shops and online sellers in the coming months.
News of LG’s financial and sales performance follows an announcement this week that confirmed the five millionth sale of the Cookie phone.
President and chief executive officer of LG Dr Skott Ahn said: "Achieving five million units in sales in only nine months is proof that we’re on track with our goal to make Cookie a phone that’s loved by everyone."
