People looking for a mobile phone that can help them minimise their impact on the planet may be impressed by a new model from LG.
The manufacturer’s GD510 – otherwise known as Pop – has been designed to keep energy consumption as low as possible.
Buyers will find the handset boasts an eco-calculator that is built into the mobile’s menu system and allows them to monitor how much CO2 they save by using the phone.
The main feature that makes the device a greener option than more traditional handsets is its solar-powered battery.
Commenting on the phone, LG stated: "Ten minutes under the sun provides up to two minutes 15 seconds of talk time or up to 180 minutes of standby time."
The phone also comes with a range of other features that may make it attractive to those in the market for a new device, including an integrated media player and a full touchscreen.
Alternatively, buyers may prefer the South Korean manufacturer’s recently-released BL40 Chocolate handset.
Which of the two is the most appealing?
