O2 has announced the launch of a new product that it hopes families who have recently purchased its Joggler device will enjoy.

The offering claims to be the "world’s first interactive 3D cinema game" that will invite people to head to their local Vue Cinema where they can take part in the show.

In conjunction with Pearl and Dean, Asteroid Storm will run before Ice Age 3D and will allow visitors to interact with the onscreen events by using their bodies as a controller.

Different sides of the theatre will be asked to raise their hands and guide an onscreen spaceship out of an asteroid storm.

Richard Murfitt, O2′s head of campaigns, said: "A family trip to the cinema can often be seen as an adventure in itself. We wanted to take this idea one step further and put families into the heart of the action on the big-screen."

The campaign will be used to support the new Joggler device, which can be used to help families organise their day-to-day lives.
