An expert has suggested that one of the latest mobile phones from HTC is so well equipped that buyers may forget it makes calls.

Mobile Burn’s Russell Jeffries put the Touch HD2 to the test this week and paid particular attention to the wide range of features that set the model apart from some of its predecessors.

He explained regular visitors to the YouTube video sharing website would find that the device is particularly effective, while social networking portals like Twitter and Facebook are also well served.

"It is certainly one of the most high-tech handsets currently available and has nearly every function you could want on a mobile phone," the expert added.

The writer also noted that buyers "could almost forget" that the HD2 is first and foremost a mobile phone thanks to the number of technological extras onboard.

Among these are a large 4.3-inch display, as well as a five-megapixel camera, 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and the new HTC Sense user interface.

The HD2 is a Windows Mobile model unlike its Google Android-powered Hero sibling.

Will you be upgrading an old HTC for the HD2?
