The HTC Legend mobile has been “beautifully constructed” and well designed, according to one reviewer.

Stuff magazine said the metal chassis on the handset was “beautiful” and has been created from one piece of aluminium.

The 3.2-inch screen on the device maintains compact dimensions thanks to the 480×320 AMOLED screen resolution, while the trackball that appeared on HTC’s previous device – the Hero – has now been replaced by a “cool” virtual trackpad on the Legend model.

“It feels like a premium handset and operates in such a slick manner that you easily forget its little shortcomings,” the publication said.

It is powered by the Android 2.1 Eclair operating system and has a five-megapixel camera similar to the Hero’s, although the Legend is “considerably slimmer”.

Other offerings from the manufacturer include the HTC Tattoo, which has a 3.2-megapixel camera and touch-sensitive screen with a digital compass and Wi-Fi included.
