Well, I’ve been hearing rumours about this for a while, but, me being me, I wanted to wait until something official arrived before I shouted about it. Well, now, it’s gone official, according to Engadget.
It’s the LG Prada II, and it’s set to meld the worlds of high-tech and designer fashion, like never before.
Despite myself, I actually really liked the first LG Prada. It did look nice, I can’t deny, and although the specs weren’t brilliant (2 megapixel camera etc), the operating system on it (later seen on the LG Viewty) was awesome. Like properly brilliant, and dead fun to use.
However, I wouldn’t have got one, because it lacked certain things I always look for in my mobile phones. A QWERTY keyboard for a start, and a decent camera. Well, LG have addressed all those things in the LG Prada II. As you can see from the pic, you get the same brilliant touch-based interface, but now, it’s also got a built-in QWERTY keyboard, that slides out to the slide like on the Sony Ericsson X1.
Brilliant, that, if you use your mobile phone for things like email and the internet (since it’s now got a full-on, properly good web browser and HSDPA at 7.2 Mbps)… or hell, even if you use it just for texting, you can nearly touch-type on the LG Prada II, so you’ll be belting out texts like there’s no tomorrow. Well, I would, anyway.
On the camera front, the pixel count for the LG Prada II has been upped from 2 megapixels to 5, and it wouldn’t surprise me if you get Schneider-Kreuznach lenses (like on the LG Viewty), low light modes and autofocus (like on the Viewty) and basically, I get the distinct impression this may well be the equivalent of an LG Viewty with a keyboard added.
This is a GOOD thing.
So, it follows on from the original Prada, it is essentially an LG Viewty with a keyboard (and very definitely the little brother to the LG KC910 Renoir). In other words, this could be rather nice!
