Orange is set to release the HTC Desire, which will feature Google’s 2.1 Android operating system.
The 3G+ device will be available to UK customers on the network from April free of charge on some pay monthly plans.
It includes the "superfast" Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor and is designed for users who want "to make the most out of the internet".
Orange Maps, a satnav programme from the network, will be available to use on the handset, as will Orange TV.
The 3.7-inch WVGA screen has anti-fingerprint technology and the gadget has space for up to 32 GB of memory through a MicroSD card.
Francois Mahieu, Orange UK director of devices, said the network was delighted to work with HTC and added: "The Desire is a truly powerful handset which will allow consumers to get to grips with all the things they love about the internet."
Other offerings from the operator running on the Android system include the Motorola DEXT, which comes with qwerty slider keyboard.
