A mobile service aimed at protecting children from offenders has been developed by two companies.
Mobile communications firm aql and Crisp Thinking – a child safety organisation – have created a device designed to increase the safety of children who own a handset.
Crisp founder Adam Hildreth said the unique technology will allow certain words from a child’s text message inbox and sent messages to be sent to a screening engine and checked.
He added: "Crisp technology is at the forefront of cyber bully and predator detection and we’re excited by the prospect of going mobile."
Adam Beaumont of aql said the partnership between the two organisations was "ideal".
Any handsets which feature the technology, available from summer 2010, will be marked with the Crisp logo.
This news comes after O2 recently announced it is aiming to change negative perceptions people have of youngsters with a new £5 million scheme called Think Big.
