Celebrating Halloween with a giant iPhone costume…

No, obviously not me. Some enterprising types in America (who, I’m guessing, probably love their iPhones a bit too much), have decided they’re going to rock out this Halloween by dressing as their favourite mobile phone. And when I say ‘dress up’, I mean they’ve strapped 42 inch tellies to themselves, put their phones on top, and took a TV-Out feed from the phone to the telly.

Here you go:

And people call me sad? The pair spent $2000 between them, to make the two costumes, although fair play, they plan on winning the cash back through costume competitions. So, fair enough, they have a tiny bit of money sense. That still doesn’t stop this from being the single biggest bit of phone nerdery I’ve ever seen. And also, oh dear god, one of them’s wearing sandals.

I say again, people call me sad? Of course, the funniest part, for me, is how they’re powering their giant, wearable iPhones.

Car batteries. On string. Suspended between their legs.

Ooh, that’s gonna sting if any battery acid slops out the sides, especially if it slops upwards. Hmm, that actually makes their endeavour slightly more heroic, if their risking the stinging, agonising horror of battery acid on the conkers, just to prove their love for a phone. I… I almost feel respect for them! Well, I would, if one of them wasn’t wearing sandals.

Meanwhile, my favourite Halloween costume would be this:

God, that brings back memories!

And if I was going to dress up as a phone, I’d just use an HTC HD2. The screen on that’s nearly as big as their costume, anyway…

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, EVERYBODY!
