Opera Software has released the final version of Mini 5 and Mobile 10, which are its two most popular browsers.
It said the main aim when developing them was to make it easier for every user to socialise, surf and search on their mobile phone.
However, the company asked the question of whether people can live without the browser on their handset, given its capabilities.
It gave five reasons why consumers should download it – boosted surfing speeds, a "full web experience" on any phone, compressed data so minimised phone bills, a sleek user interface and synchronicity between bookmarks, speed dialling and notes, so no information is ever difficult to find.
"Keeping in mind the needs and wants of our 50+ million users, we have emphasised speed, desktop-like functionality and data savings in our mobile browsers," explained Lars Boilsen, chief executive officer of Opera Software.
Earlier this month, the company launched a beta model of Opera Mini 5 for the Android operating system.
