The Blackberry Storm is a bit of a mixed bag, really. On the one hand it’s a superb smartphone, with a massive, and unique touchscreen. On the other, its camera wasn’t that great, it lacked WiFi, and there are recurring reports that the screen, although unique, makes your thumbs really hurt after typing out long emails.
However, according to IntoMobile, the CEO of RIM, Jim Balsillie, has come out and said that the first version of the Storm was only the beginning. He’s confirmed the Blackberry Storm 2 is indeed in development.
Altogether now, last line from The Terminator: “Viene tormenta… A storm is coming…”
Sorry, couldn’t resist…
As yet, of course, there’s no word on what the sequel to the Blackberry Storm will have, specs-wise, but many people’s wish lists include WiFi, a better solution to the clickable screen that doesn’t actively try to injure you, and perchance, a slide-out, full QWERTY keyboard.
That’s what I’d want anyway, to make for the perfect email mobile phone. Oh, and a better camera, too, because 3 megapixel cameras are getting a bit long in the tooth. Considering that by the time this probably hits the market (and I reckon about November, based on the original Blackberry Storm), it’s going to have serious competition from the likes of the next iPhone, the Sony Ericsson Idou, and the next Xperia phone (whatever that may be), it’d better bring its A-game…

Totally agree on camera and their are issues with the phone freezing all the time. Hopefully, the version 2 will have ironed out these issues.
