A new article has revealed further details on a new BlackBerry that Research In Motion (RIM) is putting into production.
According to crackberry.com, the BlackBerry KickStart will be a flip-style handset that looks decidedly different to RIM’s other smartphone offerings and is now becoming more of a reality each day.
It is reported that the KickStart "will work like any other flip" in terms of making calls and sending text messages but adds that a number of other additions are also expected.
"When it comes to messaging, flipping the KickStart open will be like pulling an existing BlackBerry device … from its holster," it states.
It adds that the handset will come equipped with a music player which can be used while the phone is still closed and recent rumours suggest "KickStart will ultimately ship with OS version 5.0" – with Bold able to upgrade from the current 4.6 software.
