Anyone can be an interior designer thanks to a new application brought out for the Apple iPhone.

Mydeco – an online advisor on design – has given people the opportunity to see how a typical room in their house may look with different pieces in thanks to its ‘Furnish a photo’ app.

The user can download the free function and then choose a piece of furniture from around 500 in the collection and add it to a picture of their room of choice.

It could be a chair, which the user then moves around to fit in the room however they like. It may ultimately save the consumer lots of money by ensuring they have already tested out how a piece of furniture will look in their house, to see if the colour schemes match for example.

The image with the furnished chair can even be emailed to a friend or posted onto social networking site Facebook straight from the device.

Last month, Tim Green, executive editor of Mobile Entertainment, praised Apple for its applications store.
