A new AA application for the Apple iPhone has more than 14,000 places to eat, stay or drink in and around Great Britain on it.
The Best of Britain app will inform users about different points of interest thanks to the AA’s database.
And the motoring organisation has joined forces with Mobile Commerce, which provides location-based services and mobile content integration, to create the mobile phone-based guide.
Steve Page, Mobile Commerce chief executive, calls the application "compelling" and said it will be used regularly.
He added: "It is the perfect partnership of AA’s unrivalled, highly researched content and our expertise in developing for the mobile platform, integrating location-based search."
Apple iPhone users will be able to download the application via the iTunes App Store for £4.99.
A recent new app for the handset is the Where’s My Phone? function, which is designed to help people find their devices by simply whistling and the phone rings.
