This Nokia’s rubbish! (of the recycled kind…)

nokia remade mobile phoneNokia seem to be going hell for leather to be seen as green, just recently. From the 3110 Evolve we saw a bit back, to the Eco Sensor pod thing, that let you monitor your surrounding environment, presumably for DANGEROUS POLLUTION.

Bono must’ve got to them…

In their effort to make themselves greener, according to Engadget Mobile, they’ve now gone a step further than using recycled cardboard in their packaging, to make a phone that’s made completely from recycled ingredients. Called the “Remade”, it really is made from 100% recycled… erm, stuff.

So, the keypad’s made from old cans, presumably the screen comes from, erm, another mobile phone that has exactly the same dimensions of screen, and even the electrics of the phone come from recycled sources (which admittedly, don’t work in this one, as it’s only a prototype, but hey).

No word on when, or even IF, the Remade will (re)make it into production, but given that it’s something people will most likely want (thanks to Bono, again), I do reckon it’s going to happen at some point. Ooh, idea, you could combine it with the knee charger for the ultimate eco-solution!

Let’s just hope they don’t make this into a car-inspired mobile phone, though, because it’s got G-Wiz written all over it…

That is not a good thing…
