Sony Ericsson X10 coming soon to Vodafone

Sony Ericsson X10 coming soon to Vodafone? We’ve been hearing a bit about the Sony Ericsson X10 ever since it was launched, but one thing we’ve not officially been told is the release date. Until now, that is, because according to IntoMobile, we do, now, have a release date for it. And we know which network’s getting it (or, at least, getting it first).

The date? Some time in April. The network? Vodafone.

Now, obviously, there are no prices yet, and there most likely won’t be until the phone actually does get released, but at least now, we all know when we can expect this beastie to hit the shelves. And once it does, you can be damn sure I want to have a play with one, because it’s the highest specced Android phone to ever be announced so far. And that’s saying something when the Nexus One is already on the market, but the Sony Ericsson X10 trumps it in two very important areas: camera and screen size. That’s because, as we all should know by now, the X10 has an 8MP camera and a 4.1 inch screen; that’s almost half an inch bigger than the Nexus One.

You didn’t really ever believe that size doesn’t matter, did you?

Of course, the Nexus One has an AMOLED screen, which should mean better colour reproduction, and without knowing what version of Android the X10 uses, I can’t tell you whether the Nexus One is better in that respect, or not. So, it’s going to be an interesting matchup between the two, and it’s definitely going to be one scrap worth watching. Of course, I don’t reckon either of them are as good as the HTC HD2, but then I would say that, wouldn’t I…
