Sony Ericsson Rachael – rumoured UI gets leaked again

Not long to wait, now. The Sony Ericsson Rachael (or X3, or X10, or whatever they decide to actually call it) is due to be announced tomorrow, and just in time for the announcement, another leak of the supposed user interface of the new Android monster has popped up online.

You know, the one that I’m not convinced is absolutely genuine…

Today’s leak comes, once again, in the form of a Youtube video:

Hmm, I won’t be convinced that’s the genuine article till I actually see the phone get announced tomorrow, and see it’s running that rumoured UI. Until then, it remains a rumour, for me. However, part of me really does hope it’s on the level, because as Android UIs go, that’s one of the nicest I’ve seen. The ‘mediascape’ browser looks like an evolution of Sony Ericsson’s existing media browser, that you get on phones like the Sony Ericsson Aino (and on my X1), so if it’s on the level, it’s going to be rather nice to use.

Also interesting is the fact the video lists the UI as being shown at 480×858 pixel resolution, the same as the Motorola Droid those lucky Americans are getting, and which, as yet, hasn’t been announced for these shores (but stayed tuned today, there’ll be a whole separate post about that phone coming up in a bit). That puts it around the 16:9 mark, and with that mediascape browser, watching video on this thing is going to be a proper treat.

Anyhow, we shall find out tomorrow…

Meanwhile, you may remember that there was another phone leaked alongside the Rachael, all those moons ago. A phone that went on to be officially called the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness.

Well, actual, honest-to-god real footage of the phone, being used in the real world, has turned up online today, as well:

Annnnnnnnnnnd you can’t change the battery on it. Hmmm, that makes the phone that bit less appealing. Of course, the fact you can barely see the display in anything other than complete darkness (or so it seems from the video) is a bit more of a serious issue…
