Samsung working on a new camera, with an Android phone built in?

Right then, I did a blog post a while back about how Polaroid are turning the world on its head, ‘cos instead of making a phone with a camera in it, they’re making a camera with a phone in it. It just seems like such a natural evolution of the camera phone, and I’m intrigued how it’ll turn out, basically.

However, I’m a lot more intrigued by the fact that, according to PocketNow, Samsung might be doing exactly the same thing. Y’see, they’ve recently applied to trademark the name “Galaxy Camera”, and as we all know, “Galaxy” is the name they give to all their Android devices (and not just their phones, ‘cos there’s the Galaxy Tab range as well). So, an Android-powered Samsung camera, eh? Pretty much has to be win, right?

Well, obviously we have no real idea of how it might turn out, but it’s worth noting that Samsung do make good cameras. They also make good phones (the Samsung Galaxy S II is unbelievably popular, and even Google recognise da skillz, ‘cos they picked them to make the Samsung Galaxy Nexus). So, they should be able to make a good camera that’s got a phone in it, right?

Well, theoretically. Hopefully. Fingers crossed, anyway.

Should be more popular in the market than the Polaroid, as well, ‘cos while camera aficionados will definitely be au fait with Polaroid, phone lovers might not be. So yeah. Could be good. Could be rubbish. We’ll have to wait and see.
