Well, it’s been on site for a couple of days, but what with one thing and another, I’ve not had chance to shout about it, so it’s time I rectified that. Samsung’s new high-end (and I do mean high-end) flagship phone is now on sale. Yep, that’s right.
The Samsung i8910 HD (or, as I call it, the artist formerly known as the Omnia HD) is now available to order on Orange!
Put simply, this is all set to be one of the phones of the year, with a massive 3.7 inch AMOLED screen, that puts just about every other screen on every other phone, in the entire world, to shame, with the same approximate level of vibrancy and brilliance as the surface of the sun. And on that screen, you’ve got the next-gen, 3D version of Samsung’s TouchWiz interface, sitting on top of Symbian Touch (yes, the same Symbian Touch found in the Nokia N97). Oh, and not to forget, you get a top-end, 8MP Samsung camera on the back, too.
None of that is what makes the phone unique, though. There’s one other big reason for you to buy the Samsung i8910 HD, and long-time readers may well know what it is, since I’ve gone on about it a lot: proper, full-on HD video recording (and playback). This is the first phone in the world, ever, that will record full HD video, running at 720p resolution. Oh, and it has high speed internet access, with high speed uploads, and Samsung have put an upload button in the camera software itself. And you know what that means.
Instant, mobile, HD uploads to Youtube. It’s not being billed as the HD Youtube phone, but let’s face it, that’s exactly what it is.
