Nokia have released or announced a couple of gems recently. First up, there’s the Nokia N96, the first mobile phone to come with iPlayer built in straight out of the box. Then, there was the Nokia 5800, their first mainstream touchscreen phone. The question on many people’s lips, though, has always been about what mobile phones they plan in future, what cool stuff is coming to blow every other mobile phone out the water?
Well, thanks to Engadget Mobile, we now have a rumoured list of the mobile phones (Symbian ones, anyway) we can expect next year… and, well, there’re going to be some monsters. The list is absolutely massive, so I’m not reprinting the whole thing, but without further ado, here’s some of the most tantalising, drool-worthy highlights:
Ooh, nice, so what that’s saying then, is that the successor to the Nokia N85 is actually going to be more powerful than the current Nokia N96. Which rocks.
Ooooooooh, the next Nokia touchscreen mobile phone (third column tells you the Symbian OS it’s running; anything with a 5 at the start is able to feature touchscreen) after the Nokia 5800, and the specs look to be right up there. I’m betting Nseries or a higher-spec XpressMusic device.
Ooh, look, and also on the list is the first 8 megapixel mobile phone from Nokia. Granted, it’s taken them long enough, but it looks like one’s finally in development (even if it is non-touchscreen, which is a bit of a disappointment). However, the big news must surely be the last one on this list of upcoming powerhouse mobile phones, a device known, at the moment, only as Eitri:
Ok, that’s some pretty damn impressive specs, right there. Could we, in fact, be seeing the specs for the first ever touchscreen Nokia Communicator? Only time will tell, but one thing’s clear. Nokia are really going on the offensive next year!
