Rumour – Samsung will make the next Googlephone, the Nexus Prime

Okay folks, I’ve already done one blog post, today, about Google, and about how they’re well on track to rule the world, with Android. So, let’s follow it up with another post about Google, only this one is about their next Nexus phone, the successor to the Nexus S. Specifically it’s about who is rumoured to be making it, and what it’s rumoured to be called; according to BGR, the first bit is “Samsung”, and the second bit is the single greatest name of a phone that I’ve ever heard.

“Nexus Prime”…

Now then, anyone who knows what my avatar is an image of will know why I love that name so much, but others may need an explanation…

It’s not the fact that it sounds cool (which it does), or that it sounds properly sci-fi (which it does), no sirree. It’s because it’s the name of a Transformer. This is precisely why I love the LG Optimus 2X so much (well, alright, I’ll clarify… I love the name, I have no idea what it’s actually like as a phone). Just imagine how much more I’d love the HTC Sensation, if it was called the HTC Starscream.

And if the Samsung Galaxy S II was called the Samsung Grimlock, I would not only buy it instantly, but I’d also, probably, marry it…

As for the spec, frankly, who cares? But if you insist, it’s said to have a Super-AMOLED screen, which reinforces the idea that Samsung will be making it, and it’ll be running Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest version of Android. We’ll see how the rumours pan out, but as long as it keeps that name, I don’t care about the rest. I realise that in my official position as Technical Markus, that may seem an odd attitude, but there ye go. What can I say, I love robot things that turn into other things…

And on that note, oh god, imagine if it really did transform into a robot! WANT!
