Orange to sell Apple Macbooks with mobile broadband deals?

Apple and Orange team up mobile broadband bundles?News from IntoMobile, now, where it’s being reported that Orange are in the final stages of talks with Apple, to sell mobile broadband deals with a bundled Apple laptop. So, according to the report, we can expect to see Apple MacBooks being sold by Orange, tied in with a mobile broadband deal, hopefully starting this summer.

There’s also a rumour that this deal could lead on to more, with the possibility of a MacBook with mobile broadband built in being mooted.

As for pricing, and what deals’ll be available, that’s anybody’s guess at the minute, but given the price of Apple gear, expect the deal to only be available on higher tariffs, and most likely with a 2 year contract. After all, the cheapest price I could find on a standard MacBook was running to about £700, whereas other laptops that’ve been sold on broadband deals (let’s pick an example out of the air: the Acer Aspire 2920, that retailed at about £400) were a lot cheaper.

So, the question is whether Orange can wangle a deal to actually give away the MacBook for free. If they can, I reckon a lot of people’d snap that one up…

Although, if I’m brutally honest, I like the look of the Dell Mini 9, that Vodafone are doing on a selection of mobile broadband deals, a lot more, mainly because it’s all wee, and it’s about 500 quid cheaper…
