In a shocking challenge to the big boys in the mobile world, new modular-handset manufacturer Modu have claimed their new phone is going to shake up the world of mobile phones, according to Engadget Mobile, even going so far as saying that “all Nokia can do is go to church on Sunday and pray”!
Oooooooooooooooooooo-kay…
Not only that, but they also said that Nokia’s build-it-all-in philosophy has led to them stagnating as a company. Which is one of those questions just destined to make people go, “Erm, you what? Have you seen the N82??”
In direct opposition to Nokia’s method of building tons and tons of features, the Modu builds in absolutely nothing, the reason being that all of its cool stuff comes from putting the little weeny handset core bit into different ‘jackets’. Which is a nice, novel idea, and has got the legs to sell reasonably well, I reckon, but let’s look at the facts:
Nokia’s market share: 40%
Modu’s market share: 0%
Nokia N96: pure telephonic loveliness
Modu: without jackets, looks like a domino
Still, like I say, it’s got the potential to sell fairly well. But knocking Nokia out the game? Nah.
Having said that, though, it’s always nice to see people picking a fight with someone bigger than themselves…

The information which was taken from TheMarker is completely misquoted and False Dov Moran has nothing but respect and praise for Nokia. Mr. Moran has never made such a remark towards Nokia, the world’s leading mobile manufacturer.
