There’s been a lot of talk of talk, recently, about the sequel to the LG Viewty, one of the biggest selling phones in the Korean manufacturer’s history, with various reports popping up about what its specs would be, and some blurry photos. But now, according to IntoMobile, we’re getting our first glimpse of official photos, as well as the full run-down on its specs.
It’s just that, due to LG putting the blog up early by accident, we weren’t supposed to see details until Monday…
Still, what we’ve seen is rather impressive so far. The confirmed specs for the LG Viewty II now include an 8MP camera, and a 3 inch touchscreen, on top of GPS, WiFi, and HSDPA. Meanwhile, all of that techy goodness is squeezed into a body only 12.4mm thick, making it rather damn sexy, as well as well rather nice to use.
Ooh, and is that a new interface I see for the camera? That little onscreen slider to let you swap between still and video modes is actually rather mint. On the subject of interfaces, expect the LG Viewty II to inherit the S-Class UI seen in the LG Arena, making it even nicer to use (one of our regular commenters, SteveTheGeek, has expounded on the virtues of the LG Arena, many times here, but you know what, he’s bang on the money, it’s a GORGEOUS interface)…
Of course, none of these specs are verifiable at the minute, because it seems that, realising their error in scooping a phone the week before it’s due to actually be launched, LG have pulled the original blog post with the specs on. And the quoted reason for pulling the blog post?
Apparently it’s so new, that LG haven’t actually decided what to call it yet. The model number is the LG GC900, but as for its name… well, it could either be the Viewty II or the Viewty Smart or just the plain Smart.
I guess we’ll find out for certain on Monday…
