January 14th - the day Vodafone gets the iPhoneWell, it’s appeared on O2, Orange, and even Tesco Mobile, but now, it’s time for Apple’s baby to appear on the world’s oldest mobile network. There’ve been rumblings of it happening for ages, but today, we finally know the date it’s going to happen. Yup, according to the BBC, the iPhone is coming to Vodafone. When?

January 14th, 2010. Stick it on your novelty calendars, folks.

So, if you’ve been waiting for it on Voda (as I know some of you have), then you’ll soon get your chance to buy it. Whether it’s the only network you can get coverage on, or you just fancy the look of their tariffs, in just over 4 weeks’ time, you’ll be able to get your hands on one.

Ah yes, the tariffs. Well, the tariffs range from £30 per month (24 month contract), er, upwards. Obviously details are a teeny bit sketchy at the minute, but if you want the 8GB iPhone 3GS for free, you’re gonna be looking at £35 a month, no a 24 month contract.

As for data, Vodafone say you get data with a fair use limit of 1GB included within the tariff, but you also get unlimited WiFi (much like on O2′s deals), so plenty of opportunities for internet usage and loads of stuff through the App Store. Oh, and like the iPhone 3GS on other networks, you can also use it for tethering (y’know, connecting it to your laptop, and using the phone as a modem); to be able to do that, you’re looking at £5 per month, for 500MB of data through the tethered connection.

So, yes. January 14th. If you’ve been waiting for the iPhone on the big, red fun bus network, that’s when you get your chance.
