Of all the big films of the 80′s, one sticks out as being the greatest single film that defined not just cinema at the time, but my entire childhood (if you don’t count Back To The Future and Indiana Jones), and that film is Ghostbusters. Honestly, it defined my whole experience of the 80′s, that film did. Well, 2009 is the 25th anniversary of the first film’s release, and to celebrate, there’s a new Ghostbusters game on the way, for XBox 360, PS3 and the Wii.
Oh, and on the iPhone, according to Electric Pig.
There are no details on how you actually control it, or use the famous proton packs, but something involving both touch controls and the accelerometer. So, probably something not a million miles away from the Wii version, I’ll bet.
Unlike the Metal Gear Solid iPhone game, though, this one I’ll be able to get on the XBox, so I won’t be jealous. The only other question is whether we’re going to see versions of it for other phones. Of course, the phones’d have to support accelerometers and probably multitouch screens, so my money’d be on the HTC Magic and Palm Pre, if it makes it to other platforms.
Either way, I’m getting the XBox version, and do rest assured I shall be shout the line that’s made it into my personal top ten at the telly: “We came, we saw, we kicked its ass!”
