Ah, here we go… the second of today’s blog posts, and it’s another launch event, by HTC this time. As with the Samsung news earlier today, it’s a bit vague as to what they’re actually announcing, and whether it’ll be an Android or a Windows Mobile phone.
AndroidCentral are hoping to see the HTC Hero, it seems, while WMExperts are crossing their fingers to see one of the big batch of WinMo phones from a leaked roadmap earlier in the year.
The thing is, either of them could be right, as, of course, HTC do use both operating systems. The press release that’s popped up ahead of the launch event doesn’t actually specify what they’re launching, so it’s fair to say that both the Android and WinMo communities are clamouring to see their favourite OS get a new phone.
But which is more likely?
Well, I’m gonna go out on a limb here (although not on much of one), and say that I reckon it’ll be a new Android phone, most likely the one I’ve been hearing about recently, under the name HTC Hero. That seems most likely, given that new Android front-end that got leaked online a bit back, so that’s what I’m putting my money on. If I was betting on it. Which I’m not. But you get the point.
Still, whatever happens, whether we get the next follow-up to the HTC Magic, or whether we get something to take on the might of the Toshiba TG01, June 24th should be a date worth watching…
