It’s been a long time coming to these shores, but this weekend (tonight, if I can get in…) I finally get to see the film I’ve been absolutely gagging to see since I first saw the trailer (and since I’ve been following the viral marketing for it since that night, my anticipation is somewhat high).
Yep, I’m talking about Cloverfield, JJ Abrams’ modern take on the giant monster movie. And rest assured, dear readers, I shall be keeping my eye out for mobile phones in it!
And you just know there are going to be some in it. I mean, come on, director Matt Reeves even called it a monster movie for the Youtube generation. In fact, speaking of which, I know for certain there are mobile phones in it… Check out this exclusive clip, that made its way onto Youtube (although it’s too late to enter the competition to win an exclusive screening, since, well, the film’s already out):
See? Statue of Liberty’s head comes flying down the street, what do people do? Whip out their cameraphones and get photos of it. Well, let’s face it, you would, wouldn’t you? It’s not every day you see the head of a national monument land outside your front door.
So, I shall be keeping my eye out for mobile phone action in amongst the monster mayhem, and the explosions, and the critters.
No idea whether I’ll be able to identify them (although buzz on the street says they’ll be Nokia), but I shall try my best, and be back with a special report on Monday!
Leave us a comment and have your say!

Well, I have seen it, over the weekend. But I’m not going to tell you what it’s like, yet…

However, I WILL say, “expect a full report later today!”
