Arizona teen steals stereo, gets shopped to the police by his own phone

Arizona teen shopped by his own phoneAh, I love stories of such rank stupidity that it makes one question the continued survivability of the human race. And thanks to the Phoenix New Times, we have a new one to giggle about, that begins with a 16 year old Peoria kid nicking a car stereo, a reprehensible act in itself (since I’ve been on the receiving end of my car getting smashed into… scumbags).

However, it then turned funny, because somehow, whether it was by hitting the autodial 911 button on his phone, or by randomly dialling 911, the kid got through to the police dispatcher, who sat and listened to him, with the phone in his pocket, bragging about how he’d just boosted a car stereo.

While the police listened.

And triangulated his position.

And turned up and nicked him with the car stereo in his hands.

Ah-haaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahaha!

The kid was recorded as saying that the car stereo was really heavy, and bolted down, and it took all of his energy to rip it out. Apparently, the phone that shopped him wasn’t even his, it was, apparently, a cheapo one on the American Cricket network, that he’d already nicked. Although, apparently, he also has no taste in phones, as his mates were heard to lament that he hadn’t nicked a Blackberry.

Yeah, that’s right, if you’re a fledgling career criminal, with a bright future in being nicked by the police in really stupid ways, with about half a brain cell in your head, then get yourself a Blackberry Storm, obviously.

Ah, I love stupid people…
