I was going to hold off on this story, until I’d seen the film itself (due out over here on May 2nd), but… well… I saw the trailer for upcoming superhero flick, Iron Man, last night, and it looks stunning! Annnnnnnnnnnnnd, it’s gonna have mobile phones in it (did you expect it wouldn’t?!), courtesy of LG.
According to Unwired, the two main characters are going to be getting an LG VX9400 (that one’s for Tony Stark, Iron Man himself, played by Robert Downey Jr) and an LG Ks20 (to be used by Virginia ‘Pepper’ Potts, played the ever-so delectable Gwyneth Paltrow). There’s just one tiny problem…
Neither of those phones are available in the UK, dammit!
However, don’t get too upset, because they’re also not as advanced as the mobile phones we’ve got over here…
*smug mode engaged*
So, while Iron Man may beat us on armour-powered-superhero-amazing-superpowers (the best we have is, erm, Bananaman), our LG Viewty beats his phone, hands down, so nyer. If I’m honest, though, I’d probably rather have an armour suit that can fly, gives me super-strength and can shoot missiles…
I shall keep you all informed as to other bits of product placement, when Iron Man is actually released (and it’s gonna feel like a looooong wait, because this has got the legs to be the best film of the year). In the meantime, check out the newest trailer, and prepare to be stunned…

I don’t mind a bit of product placement or Robert Downey Jr for that matter!
However if the product placement is anything like in Nokiafield erm I mean cloverfield then it will trash the movie. Waiting in anticipation……

Aye, we’ll have to wait and see, but I don’t reckon John Favreau (the director) will let the product placement take over, judging by his earlier works.
And Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark is just perfect, perfect, PERFECT casting. I think Downey Jr would be the first to admit he’s had some problems in his life, but his star is on the ascendancy. Oh, and let’s not forget, he can act damn near anyone off the screen!
