I really didn’t want to have to post this on the blog (and get into a big hoo ha about it all) but for whatever reason my reply any comment i post isn’t showing up on Dial a Phone and i have tried to submit it twice multiple times. We do not want to get into a slanging match with DAP so i will post this and that’s the end of it as far as we are concerned.
Below is my un-edited comment…
Hi Julian,
The style of those “zones” was also supposed to represent the style which the blog was to follow, as you can see there is the blue header text along with banners/information down the side which is the reason for the post header text colour and layout in the blog.
Now as you can see, if you remove that top banner and widen the page then it already fits the outer template of the blog which was always the idea since the tabs at the top (before they were changed) represented different “zones”.
I appreciate that the search box and rss feed box are in the same position on the page but again the rss box looks completely different to yours. There are a ton of wordpress blogs which use a similar style for their RSS feeds. Furthermore the navigational boxes on the right hold standard wordpress information other than the top 3 phones. The style of the boxes doesn’t copy yours at all and since we are both using wordpress there is only so much information we can present.
The content of the blog is intended to be a little more light hearted along with delivering

As I said on their blog. The only similarity is the two columns and the fact you are both mobile phone retailers. Perhaps you should sue them for deformation of character.

Copyright is an important law. It’s total clear that Mobileshop have copied Dialaphone’s design, you can’t see that you must be blind, bias, or in denial.
The dialaphone blog design isn’t exactly a revolutionary design but the similarities are too many for Mobileshop not have been inspired by dialaphone. Dialaphone shouldn’t have blogged about it, but Mobileshop shouldn’t have denied by they were influenced by their competitor’s blog, as its clear they have been.

What a waste of time.
I can see the similarities but it’s a standard blog design used by many.

I’ve posted on their blog but I doubt it’ll get through their moderation so I’ll say it here too. It’s a standard blog layout – there are thousands of Wordpress sites which look the same. If Dialaphone knew anything about blogs, they’d realise this.
Besides, if they’ve got a problem, why not go through a solicitor or a private email? Slating another company on their blog is VERY unprofessional and I know I won’t be buying from Dialphone at any point in the future. Massive own goal on their part.

NEITHER blog design is that original, but it’s a bit sad mobileshop.com not holding up their hands when they are caught red-handed!
Dialaphone should do you – see if your excuses hold up in court!!!!!

There are lots of blogs, which use the same kind of design.
Because as a start everyone uses the free design template and hundreds of other bloggers too download the same template. I dont think there would be any problem unless untill the design is copyright by someone.
